How to Register to Vote
Get Your ID
You need a valid South African ID document, smart card ID, or temporary ID certificate.
Find Your Station
Visit the IEC website or SMS your ID number to 32810 to find your nearest registration point.
Register in Person
Visit your voting station during a registration weekend with your ID. Registration is free.
Vote on Election Day
Go to your registered voting station on election day. Polls open 7am-9pm. Bring your ID.
